My name is Dr. Laura Zemanian
Dr. Laura Ann Zemanian grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, where she lived with an assortment of animals during her childhood. In high school, she started working as a veterinary assistant at a small animal veterinary hospital and has been passionate about veterinary medicine ever since. She attended the University of Virginia and majored in Biology. Dr. Zemanian then earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, was awarded the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Small Animal Certificate of Clinical Excellence, and was a very active member in the PennVet Shelter Medicine Program. Following veterinary school, she completed an intensive internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC. The majority of the internship was focused on emergency medicine with additional training under board-certified specialists in a variety of specialties. Dr. Zemanian’s professional veterinary interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and shelter medicine. She’s a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Shelter Veterinarians, and she is Fear Free Certified.
