Hello

My name is Dr. Katelyn Jones

Dr. Katelyn Jones Vet at Art City vets

Dr. Jones grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on her family's dairy farm, where her love for working with animals first began. She went on to study Animal Science and Dairy Science at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!), continuing there to earn her veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Although she originally planned to work with large animals, her interests shifted during veterinary school as she found herself drawn to small animal medicine and the opportunity to focus on individualized patient care. She especially enjoys the hands-on nature of diagnosing and treating each pet’s unique needs.

After graduation, Dr. Jones worked in several general practice veterinary hospitals across Delaware and Maryland. In these rural settings, she developed strong skills in urgent and emergency care, as well as surgery, becoming comfortable managing a wide variety of cases.

In 2025, Dr. Jones moved to Philadelphia to join her fiancé, Lydia, a physician assistant. She initially took the opportunity to work in a cat-exclusive practice to further explore her interest in feline medicine. However, she ultimately found herself missing treating both cats and dogs, which led her to join the team at Art City Vets in 2026.

At home, Dr. Jones and Lydia share their lives with two beloved pets: Oliver, a long-haired tuxedo cat; and Sadie, a long-haired dilute calico cat. Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys tackling home projects, thrifting and antiquing for unique finds, exploring Philadelphia’s food scene, cheering on local sports teams (Go Birds!), practicing yoga, and listening to and playing music.
